DESCRIPTION

Disproportionated rosin is a mixture of rosin obtained by removing hydrogen atoms from abietic acid and acetic acid under catalytic conditions at a certain temperature.

The essence of the disproportionation reaction of rosin is its own redox process. During the reaction, hydrogen atoms are rearranged between the resin acid molecules. Some of the abietic acid molecules lose two hydrogen atoms on their conjugated double bonds, forming a stable benzene ring structure (dehydroabietic acid). The other part of the abietic acid molecules absorbs Two or four hydrogen atoms generate dihydroabietic acid or tetrahydroabietic acid.

Features

Ø  Light color and good antioxidant properties.

Ø  High thermal stability, reduced brittleness compared to rosin, and no tendency to crystallize.

Applications

Ø  It is mainly used to make potassium soap and sodium soap; used as an emulsifier in the polymerization process of synthetic rubber; used as a plasticizer and tackifier in synthetic rubber adhesives and water-based pressure-sensitive adhesives.

Ø  Other application industries: pigments, paints, inks, etc.

Packaging

Packed in compound kraft paper bag, net weight 25kg/piece. Or packaged in galvanized iron drums, net weight of 225 kg/drum.

Storage & Transportation

It should be stored in a cool place, avoid high temperature, and should not be stored near fire. 

It cannot be stored and transported together with spontaneous combustibles, strong oxidizers, and strong acids, and should be handled according to the regulations for flammable materials.
