DESCRIPTION

Phenolic resin 551 is a heat-reactive alkyl phenolic resin mainly used in solvent-based and neoprene rubber adhesives. Phenolic resin 551 gives the adhesive a lighter color, lower initial viscosity and extremely stable viscosity. Among neoprene adhesives, adhesives using phenolic resin 551 show good bonding strength at room temperature.

Features

Ø Soluble in aromatic solvents, fatty solvents, ketones, esters, high boiling point alcohol, etc., but insoluble in water.

Ø Light color, strong adhesion, strong cohesion, and excellent antioxidant properties.

Ø It has good compatibility with NR, CR, SBR and other polymers and elastomers.

Ø Applied to various types of grafted CR, CR, SBR rubber and other solvent-based adhesives.

1. Put in chloroprene rubber, preheat the equipment to 50°, and add antioxidant, magnesium oxide, and zinc oxide in sequence. 2. Put 551 resin into the solvent. It is recommended to use composite solvents (MB, MEK, n-hexane). Water can be added in the next step. The purpose of adding water is to optimize the viscosity. Adding excess water will reduce the cohesion. 3. Mix and stir the solution obtained in steps 1 and 2 until completely uniform.

Storage & Transportation

It should be stored in a cool place, avoid high temperature, and should not be stored near fire.

It cannot be stored and transported together with spontaneous combustibles, strong oxidizers, and strong acids, and should be handled according to the regulations for flammable materials.
